For support coordinators

Everything you need to make the referral.

Who fits, what we take on, how we report back, and how to reach us. If you would rather just call, Manny picks up his own phone.

Who we walk with

The referrals that work best here.

Children and young people are our centre of gravity. We work from infancy through to young adulthood, and we grow with people rather than handing them on at a milestone.

We are strongest where consistency is the thing that has been missing: someone who has cycled through workers, a family who has been let down, a young person who needs the same faces every week before anything else can happen.

Complex medical care sits with our Little Pals team, who are trained directly by registered nurses. Where a placement needs high intensity skills, we train and pay for that up front, before anyone starts.

Where we go
Newcastle, Maitland, the Hunter and the Central Coast. We already run up through Stroud and Dungog.
Ages
Infancy through to young adulthood.
Programs
Community access, Little Pals complex care, the Teen Crew, school holidays, 1:1 support at any age, and Adventure.

What you get back

You should not have to chase us.

Written reports, on a rhythm

You get a written update on the people you have referred, not a phone call you had to initiate first.

A team, not a single worker

Each person has a small team around them with a regular backup who already knows them. Leave and sick days do not become a gap in the roster.

A straight answer on capacity

If we cannot do it properly we will tell you, and we will usually tell you who can. We would rather keep the relationship than take the shift.

Where we have room

You should not have to ring to find out.

The most common thing coordinators tell us is that they would refer more if they knew when we could take someone. Fair. So this is where that lives, and we keep it current rather than waiting for you to ask.

Community access

Ask us

One to one, out in the community. Newcastle, Maitland, the Hunter and the Coast.

Teen and pre-teen group

Ask us

Wednesdays and Fridays through the term.

School holidays

Ask us

Three days each break, other providers welcome.

In-home and personal care

Ask us

Including higher intensity, staff trained before placement.

Capacity moves week to week. Call Manny on 0423 823 083 and you will get a straight answer, including when the answer is no.

How a referral runs

Four steps, and you are out of the middle.

01

Send it through

Email, phone, or the form on our contact page. Whatever you already have is enough to start.

02

We call the family

A real conversation about what they actually need, not a form read down a phone line.

03

Meet and greet

The proposed worker meets the person before anything is locked in. If it is not right, we change it.

04

You get updates

Written reports come to you on a rhythm from there. You will hear about a problem from us first.

Send a referral now

Email the details to hello@palsupports.org or call Manny on 0423 823 083. If you would rather use a form, the contact page has one.

Not sure if it is a fit?

Send it anyway. We would rather tell you straight than have you sit on a referral for a fortnight.
