About us
A young team, and that is the point.
We started in Newcastle with a small crew, a clear idea, and a commitment to building something that actually mattered. Three years on that has not changed.
The name
The first person we supported gave us ours.
Before Pal Supports was a business it was one young bloke on a 24 hour roster who liked being called Pal. Everything grew out of that.
He is still with us three years later. Manny still turns up to his birthday. When people ask what we are trying to build, that is the honest answer: the sort of place people stay.

What makes us different
What we would say to your face.
We are young, and we bring the energy
Our team turns up with genuine enthusiasm. Not going through the motions, not counting down the hours. That is the whole reason people want their shifts.
We train properly
Every worker goes through real, hands on training. Our complex care team is trained directly by registered nurses, and high intensity training happens up front, before anyone starts.
We think long term
We work with people from infancy through to young adulthood. We understand the whole arc, not just this month, and when things change we can usually change with you.
We keep it real
Support should feel like real life, not a service. We do not fill hours. We build relationships and get people more out of the time they have.
The bit we care most about
We look after our staff first.
The big providers around here are enormous and impersonal, and their staff turnover shows it. Workers who feel disposable do not stay, and when they do not stay, the person they support pays for it.
So we go the other way. Training paid for up front. Social nights people actually turn up to. A team leader and a people and compliance officer whose job is to make the work easier, not to chase timesheets. Good workers stay, and everything downstream follows.
“I am very staff first, because if your staff are all good, they are the ones driving, they are working the engine.”
Our values
What we hold everyone to.
Show up
Reliable, consistent and present. Every time. The whole model rests on this one.
Build real connections
Between people and their crew, between families and our team, and between us and the community we live in.
Keep it real
No pretending, no going through the motions. Genuine support from genuine people.
Lead with energy
We bring the same enthusiasm to every shift, every person, every day.
Look after the crew first
Our workers are the ones driving. Training paid up front, super paid weekly, and social nights nobody has to come to. Looked after workers do better work, and the people we support feel that before anyone else does.
Always find a way
When a family tells us the last provider said no, that is usually where we start. We bought the water sport insurance so the answer could be yes.
Sleep at night
Super paid weekly, tax set aside weekly, certifications current and checked before anyone starts. We do it the right way because we want to sleep at night, not because someone is watching.
Let's have a chat.
A phone call, a coffee, or a meet and greet at your place. No paperwork until you actually want to go ahead.
